Diversity in Investment Management Initiative

Diversity in Investment Management Initiative

Australia’s investment management professionals are critical resources in what is one of Australia’s most important and successful industries. While highly educated and incredibly talented, research and industry experience suggests asset managers and owners struggle to attract individuals from diverse backgrounds into the profession.

This landmark study seeks to understand why and how the industry needs to evolve to build a more diverse profession. Diversity will be explored across all dimensions – age, gender, decision-making styles, and cultural and socio-economic background.

Led by Mercer and supported by 20 leaders from asset managers and owners, this research will gather views from three main groups – investment managers, former investment managers, and other employees working in financial services.

If that’s you – share with us your perspectives by completing this anonymous survey, which is structured as follows:

Your demographics
Your career path and ambitions
Your perceptions of your role, direct manager and employer
Your thoughts on diversity in investment management

It should take 20 minutes to complete.

Your feedback will be combined with views from business and finance students, and will inform your industry leaders’ talent management strategies over the coming decade.

The survey is administered by Mercer and your responses are anonymous. No individual data will be shared at any point and aggregate data will not be shared for groups comprising less than 10 individuals. Company response rates will be tracked.
